  • Superior all-day hold for your ‘stache or beard. “Wacky Tacky” moustache wax ('Tacky' for short) is the darkest of our waxes and a customer favorite. Easy application with no need to reapply. (See our "Tips for Applying Wax" page for more detailed application instructions: https://www.firehousemoustachewax.com/tips-for-applying-wax )
  • Tame, train, style & control facial hair all day in any kind of weather.
  • Blends best with brown to black facial hair. Due to the natural variances in the waxes used, it can sometimes be darker or lighter than shown. Goes on lighter than it looks in the tin.
  • There are no dyes or fragrances in our waxes. Both color and scent come naturally from the waxes used. It is not a dye/color and is meant to blend with the described hair colors.
  • The main difference between our Tacky and Dark waxes is the Tacky is usually darker in color and tackier in texture.
  • Handmade and poured in small batches by Fireman John in the USA.
  • Wax comes in a 1 ounce tin with screw top lid, which can easily slide into your pocket.
  • Portion of proceeds is donated to our charity of the year (see our 'About Us' page for more info. on the charity: https://www.firehousemoustachewax.com/about-us-our-charity-of-the-year)

    good stuff

Posted by Daniel Thompson on Jan 7th 2018

I am a newbie at facial hair. I am letting it all go without trim in hopes of a handlebar but i'm not there yet...so, i needed a wax to get the wiry mess out of my mouth and this does the trick. i have high hopes of it having the strength for handlebars one of these days. The smell is of natural honey due to the beeswax and it isn't overpowering. the color is odd, but no biggie. it's a little difficult to work with if it's below 65 F but I'm not crying over pulled whiskers. I will be purchasing more in future. ***Note from FMW: Thanks for the nice review Daniel! We're so glad you're growing out the 'stache and enjoying the wax. We don't want you pulling out any whiskers though, so if it's cold, try blasting the wax with a hair dryer for a few seconds and that will make it more pliable. It's meant to be stiff (thus the hold), but does need a little warming before applying. However, if you warm the wax there's no need to rub between your fingers to warm it up. Please see our 'How to Apply' page for more helpful tips on application and thanks for using our wax!

    Great for wirery moustache

Posted by Tom on Jan 4th 2018

I've been using this product off and on (when I had a moustache) and consistently for the last year. My moustache is wirely and difficult to control and wack-tacky tames it. I style my handlebar with traditional twisted tips and it holds all day. Love this wax

    Wacky ‘stache wax

Posted by Matt on Dec 30th 2017

I have been using Firehouse brand wax for a while. Being a redhead I went with the dark. Very good stuff. I tried the Wacky Tacky for some extra hold during my shift. It is very good as well. This may be subjective but, I think the dark holds my ‘stache “together” longer. All in all both are great products. I have tried the competitors but, but Firehouse is the best. I recommend Firehouse brand to anyone wanting a good hold on their ‘stache. Firehouse, Keep up the good work!!!!

    Tacky in Africa

Posted by Jim on Dec 27th 2017

Having tried four or five different waxes over the years I've found FHMW to give the best hold, ease of application and overall consistency of the waxes I've tried to date. It's performing very well in the hot desert environments of west central Africa. Because of the heat the Tacky goes on well. Combs easier because of the higher heat here yet it holds well all day long. Great stuff! I'd recommend changing the name to something like Imperial Tack or such...

It would have been good to send how to instructions, had to go to YouTube. FMW note: A business card is included with every order that has basic application instructions on the back, unless you don't order directly thru us (i.e. Amazon or any other retailer). We also have a detailed 'How to Apply' page on our website with helpful application tips and videos.

    Firehouse Wacky Tacky

Posted by Simranpal Deol on Dec 14th 2017

My review after a week and a half: This is the first moustache wax I have ever used, and I gotta say it's decent. There's a good amount that comes in the 1 OZ. portable tin, it could last me 6+ months. The color is deep brown, and there's hardly any scent to it (slight waxy smell). I have a black beard so it's not noticeable. I scrap off about half a finger nail worth. I don't know how the others use their fingertips to loosen the wax, taking a hair dryer to it for 15-20 seconds makes it buttery; the fingertip method leaves it resin-y and glob-y for me. Application is easy, and it takes hold pretty quick. It makes the hair hard to the touch (yes, it is a wax) but no more moustache hair in my mouth while eating! Pros: Dark color, little to no scent, easy application, easy to style, sticky, good value, part of purchase goes to a charity. Cons: The hold is great, for about 3 hours. Not sure if it's the warm air coming from my nostrils, or what, but my nicely bundled up moustache hairs in the morning loosen up and droop out of shape before lunch rolls around. I've tried using a larger amount of wax, even not touching it throughout the day (it's surprisingly difficult for me). Just wish it would keep its hold. Would I recommend it to a friend, sure. Would I purchase again, probably not. **Note from Firehouse Moustache Wax: Customer was contacted and is being sent another tin. The wax should hold all day.
